Newsletter

When you subscribe, we process your email address and subscription/confirmation information to send the Unreal Buddies newsletter. Subscription is based on your consent. A double opt-in confirmation is used before your address joins the newsletter list.

The newsletter is managed with Brevo. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in each newsletter. The email address is kept while you remain subscribed, subject to any additional retention obligations that may apply.

Newsletters are prepared and sent manually. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. Limited opt-out and subscription records may be retained after you unsubscribe to respect your choice and demonstrate how your subscription was handled.

Article and resource submissions

If you submit an article or resource, we process the name, email, content, links, metadata, and references you provide so the contribution can be reviewed and, where useful, discussed with you. Submission details are sent to our contribution inbox, and an automatic receipt is sent to the email address you provide. Nothing is automatically published.

We also store your email address in a dedicated Brevo contributor list to manage contributions. Contributing does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Please do not include confidential information or personal information about other people in your submission.

Reviewing contributions and contacting their authors is based on our legitimate interest in managing contributions voluntarily sent to this knowledge base.

For rejected or abandoned contributions, we delete the submission and related personal information within six months after the review is closed.

Accepted contributions may remain publicly available with the agreed attribution while they are published. Public contributor names may also appear in the homepage thank-you section; email addresses are never displayed there. Necessary publication-permission records and editorial correspondence may be retained while needed to manage the publication or resolve a rights dispute. You can contact us to request a correction or removal.

Recipients and processors

Vercel hosts the site and executes the form endpoints. Brevo handles newsletter contacts, double opt-in, newsletter campaigns, and transactional submission emails. Namecheap Private Email hosts the mailbox used to receive and review contributions. Cloudflare Turnstile protects forms against automated abuse.

Fonts are hosted with the website. Article images load from external image hosts, which receive connection information such as your IP address when your browser requests them. Hosting and anti-spam services also process technical connection information to operate and protect the site.

Our providers operate internationally and may process information outside the European Economic Area. Their privacy notices describe their processing and applicable transfer safeguards: Vercel, Brevo, Namecheap, and Cloudflare Turnstile. Contact us for further information about the providers used for your data.

Website operation and spam prevention

Hosting and security providers process technical information, including IP addresses, request details, and browser or device information, to deliver the website, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse. These activities support our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure website.

When you use a protected form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks browser and device signals to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated requests. We use its verification result to decide whether to accept the request. Technical logs are subject to the relevant provider's retention settings and are used for operation, troubleshooting, and security.

Your rights

Providing your information is voluntary. Fields marked as required are necessary to process a subscription or contribution; without them we cannot complete that request.

Depending on the processing, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent. To exercise your rights, email privacy@yoanrock.com and describe your request. We may ask for information necessary to verify that the request concerns your data. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.

Cookies and tracking

The Unreal Buddies pages do not embed advertising pixels or website audience-measurement analytics. There are no visitor accounts or login cookies provided by this site.

Spam protection can involve browser checks and, depending on the security configuration, security-related cookies or browser storage. This is separate from advertising or audience measurement.

Externally hosted article images generate requests to their providers when loaded. External websites you choose to visit have their own privacy practices.

Email delivery and tracking

Brevo processes email delivery information, including whether messages were delivered or bounced. Its standard tracking also records email openings through tracking images and link clicks through redirected links. These events can be associated with a recipient's email address and are separate from website analytics.

Loading external images in an email can also disclose connection information to the image host. Your email application's remote-image settings can limit image loading, although they do not prevent tracking of links you choose to click. You can unsubscribe from newsletters at any time or contact us with questions about email data.
